Adjacent to the Demirkopru Dam, this olive orchard covers roughly around 420 thousand square meters of land. Two deepwater wells supply around 100 cubic meters of water per hour to the reservoir. The reservoir can hold 1000 cubic meters of water and can irrigate even larger areas.
The soil is mostly volcanic, therefore there are plenty of small lava rocks on the surface. These rocks keep the soil cooler during hot summer months and warmer during the winter.
There are 2000 Edremit Olive Trees, 15 yrs old and 15000 Gemlik Olive Saplings, 6 years old.
Edremit is mostly for olive oil production and yields around 20-25% oil by weight, whereas Gemlik is processed mostly for table olives. Gemlik can also be used for Oil production and have similar yields, and quality.
There is a possibility of extending the orchard, there are many adjacent Olive Orchards. If desired the farm can spread up-to 100 Ha.
When it reaches its peak production the farm can produce about 300 Metric Tonnes of Table Olives or Around 100 Metric Tonnes of Olive Oil.
